Musical Portraiture
I began doing musical portraits in 1999 when I was searching for some musical holiday cards to send to family and friends and wasn't able to find any. I had recently taken a watercolor class and decided to make some. People liked them and I went on to painting larger paintings and then paintings in oil.

"Gaslight Trio" was painted from the photograph by and with permission from the late, John Cohen.
The original is not available for sale, but I can make a giclee print for you on archival paper or canvas. Pictured here from left to right are: Ralph Rinzler, Bob Dylan, and John Herald.
"Les is Bes"
I was fortunate enough to see Les Paul in action at the Iridium 3 different times. Sitting near the front was the perfect place to get an interesting photo from which to paint from. The original is oil on 12" x 12" canvas. $250.00

I call Andy Statman my Rabbi. He is such an amazing musician and person and I have learned a lot from him. I give credit to and have received permission from Maria Camillia-photographer extraordinaire!
Andy was a guest instructor for the Mandolin Symposium (UCSC) for a couple of years.

"Aretha's Banner"
Wasn't it a glorious day when Aretha sang the Star Spangled Banner during the Obama inauguration? Excited while watching from our hotel room in Seattle, I grabbed my camera and took some shots knowing I would try to memorialize the moment.
The original was sold but giclee prints can be ordered on archival paper or canvas.
